SUWANEE, Ga. - After helping Millsaps College to its first back-to-back 8-win seasons in school history at 8-8-3 overall, senior midfielder
Leslie Robichaux has been named the SCAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year while senior teammate
Meredith Harris was named First Team All-SCAC on defense for a second straight year.
The duo become the first multiple First Team selections since Susan Kasperbauer and Melissa Cleary were named to the First Team in 1991.
Also a unanimous First Team All-SCAC selection, Robichaux shared the SCAC Offensive Player of the Year honors with Trinity's Brianna Young, finishing second in SCAC scoring with 13 goals (2nd in Millsaps single-season) and six assists for 32 total points (1st in Millsaps single-season) and 1.68 points per game.
She led the league in shots with 87 and was second in game-winners with five. Robichaux's 13 goals rank second-most in a Millsaps single-season while her 31 career goals are third and 75 career points are fourth in program history - despite playing just three seasons. Robichaux is the first Millsaps player - man or woman - to receive a SCAC postseason Player of the Year soccer honor.
Young and Robichaux were the only nominees to receive votes in the Offensive POTY balloting as both received five votes apiece from the league's head coaches.
Coming off 2008 First Team All-SCAC honors, Harris helped the Majors to seven shutouts on the year from her defensive position, finishing her stellar four-year career with an impressive 26 total. She netted her lone two goals of the year in a season-ending win over Dallas, including a 58-yard free kick.
Millsaps loses five seniors from this year's team, but will return 21 letterwinners in 2010.
