Men's Soccer Closes Road Slate with a Pair of Losses
Official Stats vs DePauw
Official Stats vs Centre

DANVILLE, Ky. - Playing their final two road matches of the season at DePauw University and Centre College this past weekend, the Millsaps College men's soccer team came out on the losing end in both, being shutout 3-0 and 2-0.

Against DePauw on Friday evening in extremely rainy and windy conditions, the Majors' offense managed just two shots from freshmen Daniel Moise and Hayden Baker in the first half and the Tigers countered with a pair of goals in the opening 14:32 for a 2-0 halftime advantage.

The Majors were held without a shot in the second half, while Gary Pett scored the game's final goal for DePauw in the 76th minute to close out a 3-0 win.

Neither goalkeeper saw much action on the night, with Dylan Broussard saving one shot and allowing all three, while DePauw's Nate Sprenkel had no saves.

In the finale on Sunday at Centre, the homestanding Tigers got their revenge from a 2-1 loss to Millsaps last season with a 2-0 shutout win behind a pair of second half goals.

Ryan Garvey broke open a scoreless tie in the 68th minute off a Will Frentz assist and Patrick Hall countered with a goal of his own in the 87th minute off a penalty kick.

Centre out-shot Millsaps 28-5 on the day (12-1 on net) and earned eight more corner kicks in a dominating second half effort. Broussard had 10 saves for Millsaps, five each half, while Centre's Aaron Arndt needed just one for the win.

Millsaps fell to 7-8-1 (2-6 SCAC) and will need to win both remaining contests to finish over .500 for the first time since 1996. They will play host to Austin College on Nov. 6 and Colorado College on Nov. 7 as part of Senior Day to close the 2009 campaign.
