McKinley Named SCAC Softball Player-of-the-Week

SUWANEE, Ga. - Jennifer McKinley of Millsaps College, a senior third baseman from Frisco, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Softball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 8 through Sunday, March 14.
McKinley became the first player in program history to hit three home runs in one game – doing so against No. 10 ranked Mississippi College on the road Friday afternoon as the Majors pulled off the 7-1 upset win handing the Lady Choctaws their first loss of the season.
McKinley went 3-for-3 in the game while recording five RBIs and one walk. She is believed to be just the second player in league history to hit three round-trippers in one contest – following Stefanie Fatih of Austin College, who hit three against Hendrix on March 22, 2008.
McKinley’s hot bat continued on Saturday when she hit went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks against the Lady Choctaws. McKinley finished the week .500 (6-for-12) with four home runs, six RBIs, six runs scored and four walks.
With her home run on Saturday, McKinley became the all-time leader in home runs in Millsaps history passing Robin Rockco who previously held the record with 19.
