Major Women Compete in Berry College Invite

ROME, Ga. –
The Millsaps College women’s golf team had three golfers compete in the Berry College Women’s Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Coosa Country Club.

Mirel Brackin led the trio carding a 96 in the first round before shaving five strokes off her second round score to finish with a 187 placing tied for 55th.

Natalie Boudreaux shot a 98 in the opening round but closed the tournament with a disappointing 109 on the second day to finish tied for 76th place with a two-day score of 207.

Molly Beth Jourdan finished tied for 83rd place after firing rounds of 118-118 to card a final score of 236 in the event.

The Lady Hawks of Shorter College won the event after leading wire-to-wire, with a score of 318-316=634. Shorter's round of 316 on Tuesday was the lowest of any team at the event.

Maegan Rice from the University of Mobile shot an impressive three over-par 147 (73-74), which made her the tournament medalist.

Millsaps will return to the links after almost a month break when they compete in the Rhodes Women’s Invitational at Windyke Country Club from April 11-13.
