Guthrie joined the Millsaps Majors' coaching staff for the 2013 season as the Majors Offensive Coordinator.

Guthrie comes to the Majors from Trinity University (Tex) where he spent the previous 10 seasons as an assistant coach and the 2012 season as the team’s offensive coordinator. In 2012, the Tigers averaged over 34 points per game and averaged 430 yards of offense per game.

In addition to leading the Majors' offense: Guthrie recruits the Mississippi Gulf Coast, East Jackson to Meridian, and Dallas/Fort Worth and central Texas.

Prior to making the jump to the college ranks, Guthrie was a coach at the high school level in Tennessee. Guthrie was the offensive coordinator at Brentwood High School in Tennessee. There he led the offense and coached the wide receivers to the tune of more than 30 points a game and a 29-7 record in his three seasons. The Bruins won a state title in his final year at the school.

Guthrie earned a bachelor’s degree from Kentucky Wesleyan University and received his Master’s degree from Trinity in 2006. 

Jason and his wife Sarah, from Metarie, Louisiana, reside in Jackson.
