St LOUIS-The Millsaps Majors got four goals from Hunter Stevison but it was not enough as the Fontbonne Griffins got by Millsaps 10-6 on Thursday evening.

The Majors scored quickly in the first quarter. Scott Budd and Stevison each scored. Chris Hood made four saves in the first and Millsaps owned a 2-1 lead after one.

The Griffins would score a trio of goals within a two minute span to take the lead in the second quarter. Stevison would end the run with his second goal of the night and bring Millsaps back within one at 4-3. The Griffins would tack on an additional goal in the latter stages of the half and Millsaps trailed 5-3 at the break.

Fontbonne would open the third in the same way they opened the second, with another trio of goals, stretching the lead to 8-3. Simon Sherman would light the lamp to stop the run but the Majors would trail 9-4 going into the fourth and final quarter.

Stevison would get a pair of goals in the fourth, both on the man advantage to get the Majors to within four at 10-6, but Millsaps would simply run out of time.

The Majors and Griffins were nearly dead even across the board. The Griffins had a slight edge in groundballs at 38-34 and turnovers forced at 27-23. The Majors fell to 3-4 on the season and get some well earned time off. They will take on the Hendrix Warriors next Saturday, March 23rd at home, faceoff is set for high noon.
