JACKSON- The Hendrix Warriors used a four-goal fourth quarter to push past the Millsaps Majors 12-8 in a conference match on Saturday morning.

The game was back and forth for all four quarters. The Majors fell down just seconds into the contest as the Warriors' do-it-all midfielder scored ten seconds into the game. The Majors maintained composure and knotted the game on a Ryan McKay tally. The teams would trade goals for the rest of the quarter and the Warriors led 3-2 after one.

The second quarter featured rock solid defense, the Majors tied the game with just over two minutes left in the half on a Hunter Stevison goal. The Warrior would respond with two goals in the last minute of play to take a 5-3 halftime lead.

The Majors came out firing in the second half. Scott Budd and Jake Kaple scored less than 10 seconds apart to bring the Majors to within one at 6-5. A late McKay goal made it 8-6 Hendrix heading into the fourth.

Stevison scored two goal midway through the quarter to knot the game at 8. Hendrix would respond and pull away down the stretch to make it a 12-8 final.

The two squads were pretty much dead even in stats across the board. The faceoffs were nearly dead even as the Majors had a 12-11 advantage. Neither team was able to capitalize on a man advantage as all goals were scored even strength.

The Majors now stand at 3-5 on the season and 0-2 in SAA play. They travel to Sewanee and Centre next weekend for conference matches.
