JACKSON, MS- The Millsaps Majors were defeated 23-8 by the Centre Colonels in a SAA game on Friday afternoon at Harper Davis Field in Jackson. 

The Centre Colonels scored an early tally, only to see the Majors tie it up moments later. Adam Shubert got a feed from Ryan McKay and buried a shot to make it a 1-1 ball game. Centre rolled off five unanswered goals through the middle of the first quarter, all withing a three-minute span. Hunter Stevison took advantage of Centre being two-men down to score one of his two goals on the day to make it 6-2 after one quarter. 

Centre turned it on in the second quarter, mounting an offensive attack that saw them score 10 times. Ryan McKay and Simon Sherman tallied for the Majors but Centre's efficient offensive attack made it 16-4 at the half. 

The second half paced slowed down as the Majors took advantage of a bevy of Centre penalties. The Colonels tallied 15 infractions on the day leading to eight extra-man chances for the Majors. Millsaps cashed in on three of them including a pair in the fourth quarter. The Majors and Colonels played even in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring.

Centre's offensive pressure gave them a 54-24 shot advantage and 40-17 in shots on goal. Chris Hood made 10 saves in the first half, giving way to Riley McLean who made 7 in the second half.

The Majors will look to rebound on Sunday when they host the Sewanee Tigers. It will be senior day for the Majors' and seven seniors will be honored prior to the game. Face-off will be set for noon with the senior day festivities prior.
