ATLANTA, GA- The Millsaps Majors erased a halftime deficit and held off a late-charging Oglethorpe Stormy Petrel squad to win 11-10 on Friday night in Atlanta. 

The Majors got four goals from Simon Sherman as they improved to 6-9 overall and 2-4 in the Southern Athletic Association. The tag-team duo of Chris Hood and Riley McLean combined to make 10 saves in the win. 

The Petrels came out firing early in the game on Friday, scoring the game's first two goals. Sherman's first got the Majors on the board only to see the Petrels beat the buzzer with a late goal to make it 3-1 after one. 

The Majors made it 3-2 when Senior Hunter Stevison lit the lamp midway through the quarter. Jack Houtz tied the game on a Ryan McKay feed that started a flurry of goals to end the half. The final five minutes saw the two teams split four goals as Oglethorpe took a 5-4 lead into the locker room. 

The Majors came out of the half on a mission, scoring three goals in the first five minutes. Scott Budd, Sherman again and Ryan McKay all scored to make it 7-5 Majors five minutes into the third. The Stormy Petrels responded with a three goal burst in 77 seconds midway through the quarter to retake the lead. The back-and-forth nature of the quarter continued with Millsaps getting goals from Houtz and Sherman in the final two minutes as the Majors took a 9-8 lead into the fourth. 

The fourth quarter saw the Majors down two men midway through the quarter on slashing and unnecessary. The Petrels capitalized to make it 10-9 on the advantage but Simon Sherman's short-handed goal followed and that proved to be the difference. The Majors held off a late charge from Oglethorpe to secure the win. 

The Majors will close out the regular season at the Berry Vikings on Sunday. Opening face-off is set for 1 eastern. Berry will be providing free live stats and video
