Barattini Finishes Off SCAC Championships with Strong Showing

TUNICA – Freshman Lauren Barattini represented the Millsaps Women's Golf Team on Sunday afternoon in the final round of the SCAC Championships in Tunica. Barattini moved up a spot in the rankings on the day as she shot a 98 to finish with a total of +73 for the tournament and 31st place over as a successful 2011-12 season comes to a close.
 
"I am very impressed with the progression Lauren has made in her first year as a collegiate golfer, she performed very well in her first conference championship by posting three solid rounds for us," said Barattini. "She has worked endless hours this year and she has improved in every event she has played."
 
Barattini shot an opening round 94, followed by a second day 97, and a final round 98. She concludes the season as she improved every week throughout the entire fall and spring. She will be back in action with new recruits coming to the team.
 
"Lauren will be playing in some events this summer in preparation for her sophomore year," added Brescher. "I expect Lauren to continue to improve and show up next semester ready to represent the women majors as a top player."
