CLERMONT, FL-The Millsaps Majors women's lacrosse team saw their three-game winning streak come to an end, 17-5 at the hands of the Lynchburg Hornets.
In a game that was played at the National Training Facility in Clermont, Florida, the Majors struck twice early. Alex Morphew and Megan McCullough each scored an unassisted tally 45 seconds apart and the Majors owned a 2-0 lead four minutes into the contest. The Hornets then ran off a nine-goal streak over the next 14 minutes of play. Morphew would score twice more before the halftime horn sounded and the Majors trailed 11-4 after 30 minutes of play.
The Majors could not grab control of the momentum in the second half. The Hornets scored six straight goals to start the half and put the game out of reach. JB Page scored to stop the run and put the score at its final at 17-5.
The Majors have one more game at the National Training Facility tomorrow as they take on the Bridgeview Eagles. Face off is set for 9am.
