JACKSON, MS- The Millsaps Majors women's lacrosse team honored four seniors today but fell 18-6 to the Centre Colonels at Harper Davis Field.
The Majors struck early on Sunday, with Kendall Fann going top shelf to make the score 1-0. Centre rallied for eight unanswered goals to take control of the match. Whitney Smith scored off free position to tally the Majors' second goal of the game. The Colonels would add two more to make it 10-2 at the half.
Katie Iskra and JB Page scored early on in the second half as the Majors played even with the Colonels. Centre went on a three-goal run midway through the half to put the game out of reach. Iskra would score two more down the stretch to round out the scoring.
Walker played extremely well on Sunday, making 20 saves in the loss. The teams played relatively even on groundballs with Centre owning a 31-27 edge.
The loss drops Millsaps to 3-6 and 2-3 in the conference. The Majors travel to Sewanee to take on the Tigers next Saturday. Opening draw is set for noon.
