SHREVEPORT, LA- The Millsaps Majors women's tennis team picked up a 5-1 win over the Centenary Ladies yesterday in a make-up match from February.
The Majors wasted little time, jumping up 2-0 and sweeping through doubles. Deena Li Kam Wa and Callie Creekmore made quick work on the first doubles' court, winning 8-2. Laura Kebert and Bianca Suarez battled through a tough opponent on court two, winning 8-5.
With the Majors up 2-0, they turned their sights onto the four singles' matches. Li Kam Wa continued her unblemished season with an easy 6-0, 6-1 win. Creekmore also had little trouble on court two, winning in a similar 6-0, 6-2 fashion. Suarez won in straight sets as well 6-3, 6-0. The lone setback was on court three where Kebert was tripped up in straight sets.
The win moves the Majors to 10-7 on the year with one match remaining in the regular season. Millsaps heads east for a neutral site match against Huntingdon Sunday at Meridian Community College.
