MERIDIAN- Callie Creekmore grinded out a three-set win as the Millsaps Majors beat the Huntingdon Hawks 5-4 in a pivotal region match and the regular season finale for Millsaps.

This make-up match was held at a neutral site at Meridian Community College and the Majors scored big region points by defeating a Hawks team that was ahead of them in the rankings.

Deena Li Kam Wa and Callie Creekmore got things rolling for the Majors early with a dominant 8-3 win on doubles court one. Laura Kebert and Bianca Suarez would battle into a tie break but fall 9-8 on court two.

As the contest went to singles, Li Kam Wa continued her outstanding play winning easily 6-0 6-0. Anna Brahce played a tremendous match on court four and won 7-6 (8), 6-4. Bianca Suarez was excellent as well winning 6-0 6-3. That set up Callie Creekmore to clinch the match for Millsaps. She was able to do so winning 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 to send the Majors home a winner.

The Majors improve to 11-7 on the year and will head to the SAA championships held in Murfreesboro, Tennessee next weekend.
