MAJORS STRONG AND BALANCED AT HUNTINGDON

MONTGOMERY-The doubles team of Deena Li Kam Wa and Callie Creekmore went a perfect 3-0 and each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Majors at the John McWilliams Inivte at Huntingdon College. 

Li Kam Wa and Creekmore picked up where they left off in the spring, with a strong 3-0 doubles weekend against Huntingdon, Birmingham Southern and Point University. Each took care of business at the number one and two spots respectfully, with each going 3-0 as well. 

Laura Kebert won a pair of matches over the weekend and teamed with Anna Brahce for doubles victory as well. Brahce joined Charles Rees in winning the tournament's sportsmanship award. 

The Majors' trio of freshman had strong weekends as well. Slone Myrick picked up her first career wins over Huntingdon and Point in singles and teamed with Madison Brennan for a pair of doubles wins as well. Brennan also picked up her first singles' win. Fellow freshman Jessica Reynolds picked up her first career win against Point to cap a strong team effort for the weekend. 

The women will take this weekend off before heading to their fall ITA tournament on September 28th.
