SECOND ROUND STUMBLE

CLAREMONT, CA- Millsaps junior tennis player Deena Li Kam Wa fell in her round of 16 match on Thursday to Ria Gerger of Middlebury 6-2 and 6-4. 

Li Kam Wa won her first match of the day in straight sets but lost the second that took place just hours after the round of 32 match was finished. Gerger came into the match 9-7 overall on the spring after knocking off the seventh-seeded player in the tournament. After dropping the first set 6-2, Li Kam Wa went up a break in the second set before Gerger came back to win the set and the match. 

The loss drops Li Kam Wa to 18-2 on the spring as she became the first Major in 25 years to make the national tournament.
