LI KAM WA ROLLS IN NCAA OPENER

CLAREMONT, CA- Millsaps junior tennis player Deena Li Kam Wa won her opening round match at the D-III National Tournament, defeating Victoria Bravo of St. Catherine (MN) 6-0, 6-3. 

The win improves Li Kam Wa on the spring to 18-1 overall and 9-1 in her last 10 matches. Li Kam Wa handed Bravo her first loss of the season, she had come into the match 19-0 and the eighth-ranked player in the Central Region. 

With the win, Li Kam Wa advances to the round of 16 which will be played later this evening. She will play the winner of the Ria Gerger of Middlebury and Sofia Vega of Texas Lutheran match. Gerger is currently up one set, Vega is the seventh-ranked player in the tournament. According to the Claremont webpage, Li Kam Wa's round of 16 match is tentatively set to start at 330 PST (5:30 central), but that depends on the finish of the Vega/Gerger match.
