Coached Tennis for 33 years, Men's Basketball from 1959-74, Football for three years, Baseball from 1962-63, and one year of Track
Served as the Director of Athletics and the Director of Intramural Athletics from 1960-82
Coached 22 All-American athletes, and one of his tennis players was the first woman to every play in the NCAA National Tennis Tournament
Selected in 1984 as the NCAA Division III Tennis Male Coach of the Year
Received the Mississippi Tennis Association's Junior Development Award for his work promoting tennis to young adults in the state of Mississippi
The tennis facilities at Millsaps are named in his honor, The Coach Montgomery Tennis Courts
