  • While at Millsaps played in the Number 1 slot on the men's golf team 
  • At age 14, was the youngest person to win the Mississippi Women's Amateur Championship 
  • Holds the record for the most total and consecutive wins of the Mississippi Women's Amateur Championship with eight   
  • Turned pro and joined the LPGA Tour in 1962 where she was named LPGA Rookie of the Year 
  • Won the U.S. Women's Open in 1963 and won the LPGA Championship in 1964 and 1973
  • Inducted into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in 1988
  • Presented with the Millsaps Alumna of the Year Award in 2006
