JACKSON, Miss. -- The Southern Athletic Association released their choices for All-SAA First and Second team for football for the 2016-2017 season. Millsaps Football team had four selections to First Team All-SAA and one selection to the Second Team All-SAA as well as six honorable mention nods.

Austin Harris, OL was selected to the Offensive All-SAA First Team. Alex Foust, DL was selected to the Defensive All-SAA First Team along with Jared Bullock, DS and Hector Sandoval, LB. Rashad Sims was selected to Offensive All-SAA Second Team. Taz Watson, Bryan Pittman, Jacob Kendall, Benton Brown, Tyrone Howard and Chandler Loy all received All-SAA honorable mention nods.

Senior Alex Foust, Ackerman, MS native, racked up 42 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks on the season.

Senior Jared Bullock racked up 93 tackles, five for loss, forced four fumbles, caught one interception, recovered one fumble and recorded three pass breakups on the year.

Hector Sandoval led the team with 98 tackles, eight for loss. He also had four sacks, one interception, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and recorded five pass breakups.

Austin Harris was a steady presence on the Majors offensive line all season.

Rashad Sims had 397 receiving yards and three touchdowns and 374 kick return yards, including a 95 yard kick return touchdown. He had 918 total all-purpose yards this season.

Taz Watson, senior running back, had 644 rushing yards and 104 receiving yards for 748 all-purpose yards on the year to go along with 14 touchdowns, including two 4-touchdown games.

Benton Brown, senior cornerback, made nine tackles, two for loss with five pass breakups on the season.

Tyrone Howard, freshman defensive back, made 29 tackles, caught four interceptions including one interception return for touchdown and broke up four passes.

Jacob Kendall, junior defensive lineman, racked up 31 tackles, 6.5 for loss, three sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and two pass breakups on the year.

Chandler Loy, senior defensive back,had 28 tackles, 8.5 for loss, one sack and three pass breakups on the year.

Bryan Pittman, offensive lineman, also had a great all around season protecting the quarterback. Â
The Majors overall finished 3-7, 2-6 in conference this season.
