JACKSON, Miss. – A pair of Millsaps College men's basketball student-athletes were honored today for their achievements in the classroom by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) when the organization released its 2016-17 Honors Court. Brennan Gagen (Suwanee, Ga.) and Logan Mancuso (Bell Chasse, La.), a senior and junior respectively on last season's team, were the Majors honored. Millsaps was one of just three schools in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) that had student-athletes selected for the award.
 
Gagen, a biochemistry major, was an honorable mention All-SAA selection as a senior for the Majors after averaging 11.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. A four-time member of the SAA Academic Honor Roll, he led the team in assists (88) and steals (52) during the 2016-17 season and was also honored by Millsaps with the 2017 Archie Lamb Award for the outstanding male student-athlete who best represents leadership, sportsmanship and character both on and off the field of play.
 
Majoring in business administration, Mancuso played in all 26 games for Millsaps last season, averaging 1.8 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. Among the team leaders in blocked shots in each of his three seasons with the Majors, he is a two-time member of the SAA Academic Honor Roll.
 
To be named to the NABC Honors Court a student-athlete must be a junior or senior academically, have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 at the conclusion of the 2016-17 academic year and be a varsity member of a team at the NCAA Division I, II, or III, or NAIA Division I or II level with an NABC member coach.
