APPLETON, Wisc. - In what has been an exciting postseason for Hunter Owen, including the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's Player of the Year, ABCA/Rawlings South Region Player of the Year and an inaugural selection to D3Baseball.com's All-American Third Team, the junior added ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-American to his list of 2007 accomplishments released at the World Series in Appleton on Tuesday.

A total of 15 players were recognized on the first team while 19 and 16 players were named to the second and third teams respectively.

Earning top honors as Co-National Players of the Year were Kurt Yacko of Chapman University (Calif.) and Shawn Gilblair of Eastern Connecticut State. Both Yacko and Gilblair are utility players that enjoyed significant success on the bump and at the plate.

Owen received his first postseason award back on May 21, earning SCAC Offensive Player of the Year recognition after leading the conference in four statistical categories and ranking in the Top 6 in five others.

On May 22, as released by the Div. III American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings, Owen was tabbed the South Region Player of the Year in a selection process that recognizes the top 50 players within each region around the country.

To cap off a span of three awards in three days, D3Baseball.com announced its inaugural All-America Team on May 23 in Sterling, Va., with Owen landing on the Third Team. In addition, Owen was the only selection from the SCAC in a pool of 52 selections.
