NOTRE DAME, Ind. - After receiving ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VI recognition along with Hunter Abrams that qualified them both for Academic All-America consideration, John Pacillo was named Second Team Academic All-America on Wednesday, becoming only the third Millsaps student-athlete since 1952 and the first since Chris McNeal in 1997 to gain ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA All-America honors.

Millsaps' previous two ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America selections were OF Chris McNeal who was selected to the second team in 1997 and DH John Roberts who landed on the first team in 1988.

A member of Phi Eta Sigma, Beta Gamma Sigma and Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Societies, Pacillo has thrice been named a Dean's Scholar (3.5 and above) and twice as a President's Scholar (3.9 and above) since his freshman year in 2003.

On the diamond, Pacillo ranked second in the SCAC in runs (67), sixth in total bases (94), seventh in hits (63) and eighth in RBIs (43) while ranking fifth in Division III in runs-per-game.

The senior outfielder also carried a SCAC-long 21-game hitting streak, hit safely in 39 of 46 games and posted 18 multi-hit and 11 multi-RBI games in a 35-11 season for Millsaps.
