SUWANEE, Ga. – Tyler Berry of Millsaps College, a 5-11, 170-pound, senior catcher from Brandon, Miss., has been selected the SCAC Offensive Baseball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 22 through Sunday, March 28.
In four games, Berry hit an astounding 11-for-14 at the plate for a .786 batting average while driving in nine runs, hitting four home runs and scoring eight runs on the week.
In the second game against Austin College March 27, Berry was 5-for-6 with four RBI, three runs and two home runs, both of which came in the fourth inning. He collected multi-hit games in three of four games.
Berry also posted a 1.643 slugging percentage to go along with an on-base percentage of .842 to tally a 2.485 OPS (on base plus slugging) percentage.
For the week, Berry posted a .750 batting average (9-for-12) against SCAC competition. He also added five runs, seven RBI, and three home runs in three league games.
The honor marks the first time in Berry's career that he has been selected as SCAC Player-of-the-Week.
