MAJORS PLACE FOUR ON ALL-SAA

ATLANTA- The Millsaps Majors men's lacrosse team placed four players on the honorable mention All-Conference team.

Defender Kirk Clark, goaltender Chris Hood, attacker Hunter Stevison and long-stick mid-fielder Scott Tafoya all were named to the team.

Clark was a stalwart on the Majors' back line this year, leading the team in caused turnovers. His 38 groundballs were fourth on the team.

"Kirk is a definitive game changer," coach Luke Beam said. "He has the ability to not only cover the opposition's best player but to put the ball on the ground."

Chris Hood posted a .534 save percentage this year and led the conference with 181 saves, including 19 in a 6-3 win over Rhodes.

"Chris' consistent and timely play is only topped by his ability to step up in big games," Beam said.

Stevison was the top scoring attacker in the conference, posting 40 goals on the year to lead the Majors, including 10 in the win over Oglethorpe. His 40 goals were also sixth in the conference.

"Hunter has a knack for finding the back of the net," Beam said. "Hunter's growth from season to season has been tremendous, I can't wait to see what is in store for next year."

Scott Tafoya is the lone long-stick midfielder for the Majors. A talented wing who continued to come up with clutch ground balls and was integral in the Majors' clearing game.

"Scott is a quick player who continues to find ways to get us ground balls," Beam said.

The Majors finished the year at 5-9, the most wins in school history.
