MAJORS PLACE TWO ON ALL-SAA TEAM

ATLANTA,GA- The Millsaps Majors men's basketball team placed two players on the All-Conference team with seniors Tully Gilligan and Murray Kastner named honorable mentions. 

Kastner led a balanced Majors' lineup in scoring at just over 11 points per game. The senior got hot down the stretch, scoring in double digits in five of his last six games including 17 in the conference quarterfinals against Oglethorpe. He was named to the SAA All-Tournament team for his efforts. The Frisco, Texas native led the conference with a sterling 94.9 percent mark from the free throw line, including a perfect 23-23 in conference. Kastner missed just two free throws all season. 

Gilligan filled up the stat sheet all season long, averaging 10 points, five rebounds and five assists per game. His 106 assists led the Southern Athletic Association by a wide margin (next closest had 88). The senior had at least seven assists in eight games this season. The Ocala, Florida native also had a solid defensive season, finishing fourth in the SAA with 40 steals, including seven in the comeback win over East Texas Baptist. 

Millsaps finished strong to end the season, winning five of their last seven regular season games. The Majors sent Gilligan, Kastern and fellow senior Ryan Berger out on a home high-note as they won three of their final four home games.
