MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- On day two of the 2019 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament the Millsaps College men's tennis team faced a semifinal matchup against No. 1 seeded Sewanee.
The Tigers entered the weekend as the No. 20 team in all of NCAA Division III in the most recent ITA poll.
The six-time defending conference champion Sewanee jumped out to a 3-0 advantage after the doubles' matches and won the first two singles matches to advance to the championship match.
How It Happened
The Tigers took the doubles matches by scores of 8-2, 8-3 and 8-1.
In singles play they scored a point with a 6-2, 6-1 win at number two, and wrapped up the match with an indentical 6-2, 6-1 win at four.
The Majors end the 2019 campaign with an overall record of 11-5. They finished 3-2 in the SAA.
What's Next?
Millsaps will await potential individual NCAA selections, and the release of the SAA all-conference awards later this month.
