JACKSON, Miss. -- The Millsaps College men's and women's tennis programs faced two tough Texas foes, falling in a pair of matches at the Coach Montgomery Courts on Saturday and Sunday. The men tallied a 5-2 defeat against No. 30 Southwestern University, while the women were bested, 7-0. Both teams then faced nationally ranked Trinity University and were bettered, 7-0.

Millsaps will next host Maryville College for Senior Day on Saturday, April 18. The women's team will open the day at 9 a.m. followed the men's program at 11 a.m. Senior Day festivities will follow after both matches have concluded. 


Women's Recap vs. Southwestern, 7-0, L

The Majors opened their weekend up at home against a tough Southwestern team where they fell, 7-0.

It was a difficult series for the Majors, but Riley McClain was able to hold her own on her singles courts where she won six points.

Women's Recap vs. No. 9 Trinity, 7-0, L

Millsaps squared off with No. 9 nationally ranked Trinity on Sunday, where they lost 7-0 in the match.

In what was their most challenging matchup of the season, Skylar Spinks was able to secure the most points in singles. McClain partnered with Malakie Smith to earn the most in doubles.

The Majors started their weekend with the first of two ranked teams when they took on the Pirates from Southwestern.

Anderson Causey and Sam Tuli scored the points for the Majors, with Causey winning is two straight sets and Tuli winning his tiebreaker, 11-9.
