Andy Till

Andy Till joined the Millsaps Majors in 2009 as the college's men's and women's cross-country and track-and-field coach. Under coach Till, the Majors have enjoyed a great deal of success on the cross-country trails, the track and in the field. Till has coached 57 individuals to all-conference honors and nine all-conference relay teams through the 2020-21 seasons.

Among the All-Conference honorees were Michael Galatas, the 2010 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Male Track Athlete of the Year, and Erica Cook, the 2011 SCAC Female Track Athlete of the Year. Cook went on to become MIllsaps’ first All-American when she placed sixth in the 100m at the national championships in 2011. Additionally, Till coached Zack Cart to the SAA Newcomer of the Year Award in 2013. He also helmed Christopher Butler, who set the SAA record in the long jump and qualified for the 2021 NCAA Championships.

His athletes have also shined away from their sport as 132 of his student-athletes have earned All-Conference Honor Roll status.

Prior to Millsaps, Till developed one of the most dominant cross-country and track & field programs in the state at St. Andrew's Episcopal in Jackson. He led the Saints to 15 state championships, 48 individual state champions and four state record holders.

In a career spanning from 1997 through 2008, Till’s coaching success at St. Andrew’s is unparalleled. Under Andy’s guidance, his female cross-country team won an unsurpassed ten straight state championships. He also coached eight individual state champions in the discipline and record holders in the 3200m and 4000m state championship courses.

In the spring, Till coached the girls’ track team to five 2A state championships and five runner-up finishes. He has also coached state record holders in the 800 and 1600-meter events.

Till is the 1999 Mississippi Association of Coaches Cross Country Coach of the Year. He is also twice recognized as the National Federation of Coaches Association – Mississippi Coach of the Year (2002 and 2005). Additionally, Till is a Certified Level 2 throws and endurance coach.

In addition to St. Andrew's, Till started and coached a track-and-field program for two seasons at East Rankin Academy. Till currently resides in Jackson.
