Junior (2012/13): Named Team Captain for the Men’s team for the second straight year. Has competed in every event for the Majors since joining the team in 2010. Competed in four events during the fall semester while posting the best finish of his collegiate career at the Millsaps Collegiate (75, 76- t4th) and making the All Tournament Team. Posted three top 30 finishes out of four events for the fall semester. Finished the year with a 79.10 junior average for 19 rounds. Finished 9th at the Millsaps/Meridian match with an 84. Finished T-4 and made All-Tournament at the Mirimichi Invitational (83, 72). Second on the team in eagles with three. Second on the team in fairways hit (68.4%).
Sophomore (2011/12): Was named Team Captain for the Men’s team for his sophomore year. Competed in every event for the Majors in his sophomore year. His lowest round of 73 (first round) came at the Jekyll Island Collegiate. Patton also helped the Majors to their first team victory since 1993 at the Lake Caroline Collegiate as he posted rounds of 81, 76. Posted a scoring average of 79.00 for eight rounds. Received SCAC 2nd Team All Conference award for his performance at the SCAC Tournament with scores of 74, 79, 74 (12th place).
Freshman (2010/11): Had an immediate impact on the Majors team since he arrived to Millsaps. Competed in every event as a true freshman (nine events). Posted a scoring average of 80.26 for ninteen rounds for the Majors. Patton’s posted 2 top 25’s in the Millsaps vs. Meridian CC (14th) and SCAC Conference Championship (T25th) events. His lowest round was at the Royal Lakes Invitational in his home state of Georgia with a score of 74 (first round). Was named to the 2010/11 SCAC All Academic Honor Roll.
Coach’s Notes: “Chris is a natural leader. Everything he does is 100% and he has worked very hard at improving the mechanical aspects of his golf game. He has been an exceptional student-athlete and has a bright future ahead. He has worked hard and has improved his mechanics, course management, and short game. We will turn to him for leadership in the coming years. ”
