2018 marks the first year as Head Golf Coach for Andrew MacBean.
Drew, who is a PGA Golf Professional, comes to Millsaps from Marion Military Institute in Marion, Alabama. While at Marion he built MMI’s first men’s and women’s golf program from the ground up.
Prior to his time at Marion, MacBean was the Head Coach at NCAA Division I Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi. While there his men’s team finished third at the 2016 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championships.
His coaching career has also included stops as an assistant at both the University of North Carolinia – Pembroke and Erskine College.
Under Coach MacBean’s guidance he has helped produce ten Academic First Team All-Americans, four Academic Second Team All-Americans. On the course his production includes; fifteen tournament Wins, 38 top-five finishes, eleven All-Conference players, two conference championships, two NCAA Regional appearances, with his highest-ranking golf team being fifth in the nation.
Drew attended Campbell University’s prestigious PGM Program, majoring in Business Administration. He has also received his master’s degree from Greenville College with a M.A.E. in Coaching. MacBean has been a member of both the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and Women’s Golf Coaches of America (WGCA) for several years.
