Junior (2012/13): Posted two top-15 finishes for his team in the fall at the Millsaps Collegiate (77, 77- t9th) and SAA Preview (78, 75- t15th) tournaments. Finished the year with a 78.05 junior average for 18 rounds. Finished in a T-12th at the Jekyll Island Collegiate (74, 74, 76)...Finished 7th at the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate (79, 76)...Finished T-7 at the Mirimichi Invitational (75, 81). Ranked third on the team in average scoring at 78.06. Low round of the year is 71 at the Mississippi College Invitational. Led the team in birdies made with 38 in 2012-13. Second on the team in putts per round (30.78). Third on the team in puts per green in regulation (1.874).
Sophomore (2011/12): Competed in seven events for the Majors. Made big improvements in the off season to see his scoring average drop by 3 strokes from his freshman to sophomore year. His best performance came at the Lake Caroline Collegiate where Richardson posted rounds of 75, 77 for a T6th place finish. His lowest round of the year came at his home course, Tunica National GC, at the SCAC Conference Championship (70, third round).
Freshman (2010/11): Achieved instant success for the Majors with a top 10 performance in his first SCAC Conference Championship with scores of 84, 79, 84 (2nd Team All Conference). Competed in all nine events for the Majors as a true freshman. Posted a scoring average of 81.57 for 19 rounds. Richardson’s had 2 top 10’s in his freshman year at the Millsaps vs. Meridian CC match (9th place) and the SCAC Conference Championship (T10th place). His low round of 75 was shot at the Indian Bayou Classic (second round) and the Wynlakes Wynter Nationals (second round).
Coach’s Notes: “Drew is a great asset to our team. He can be a bit on the quiet side, but don’t let that fool you; this guy can flat out play! He is a cool, calm, collective guy who just picks away at a golf course. He is a phenomenal student-athlete who we will look to for some good scores over the rest of his college career.”
