2009/10 SCAC All Sportsmanship Team
2011/12: SCAC: All-Academic Honor Roll
Senior (2012/13): Competed in the Millsaps Collegiate for the Majors in the fall. Posted scores of 81, 79 for a T-21st finish. Finished the 2013 season with a 81.14 senior average for 7 rounds. Finished 17th at Jekyll Island Collegiate (83, 84, 75).
Junior (2011/12): Competed in three events for the Majors his junior year. Posted the second top 10 of his career with scores of 81, 74 (T10th place) at the 2011 Lake Caroline Collegiate. Also competed in the Rome News Tribune Invitational where he posted scores of 79, 79 and the Jekyll Island Collegiate.
Sophomore (2010/11): Saw a lot of playing time as he competed in eight of nine events for the Majors. Posted first top 10 of his career at the Millsaps vs. Meridian CC match with a score of 74 (8th place). Sherrington made big improvements from his freshman year by reducing his scoring average by 5 shots per round. Had a scoring average of 87.64 for 17 rounds as a sophomore. Also aided his team to 2 top 10 finishes at the Lake Caroline Collegiate and the SCAC Conference Championship.
Freshman (2009/10): Competed in all four spring events for the Majors as a freshman. Best finish came at the SCAC Conference Championship where Sherrington posted scores of 87, 96, 93 for a total of 276 and a 40th place finish. Had a 92.77 scoring average in nine rounds for the Majors. Recorded his lowest round (first round) of 87 at the SCAC Conference Championship. Named to the SCAC All Sportsmanship Team for his freshman year.
Coach’s Notes: “Jake is a great leader of our men’s program. He is a very hard worker that has put in a lot of time to improving his game. Every day, Jake has made improvements and he has improved since the day he arrived to Millsaps. He is an exceptional leader on the course and in the classroom. We will utilize his leadership skills for his junior and senior years.”
