2010/11 SCAC Academic Honor Roll
Junior (2012/13): Has competed in every event for the Majors since arriving in 2010. Completed the year with a 79.58 round average over 17 rounds. Finished fifth in the Millsaps/Meridian Match with an 81. He also finished in a T-17th at the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate (81, 83) and T-18 at Mirimichi (82, 77). Led team in Par-3 scoring with 3.21 average. Second in pars per round 9.94. Led the team with fewest three-puts per round and fewest bogeys per round.
Sophomore (2011/12): Competed in all eight events for the Majors. Saw many improvements in his game as he posted a scoring average of 79.20 for 19 rounds. Achieved a lot of success with his lowest round and best finish of his career coming at the Lake Caroline Collegiate, where Baxter posted a score of 73 (second round) and finished T6th.
Freshman (2010/11): Competed in all nine events for the Majors as a true freshman. His best finish was at the Millsaps vs. Meridian CC Match (14th) where Baxter shot 82. Another strong performance from Baxter came at the SCAC Conference Championship where he posted rounds of 85, 88, 86 for a t25th finish. His lowest round of the year was at the Wynlakes Wynter Nationals where Baxter posted a score of 74 (second round). Had a scoring average of 82.21 for nineteen rounds.
Coach’s Notes: “Thomas has competed in every event since arriving to Millsaps. He has a lot of great things going for him. He has exceptional grades and is a great academic student. He has a great golf swing which includes proper alignments and sound mechanics. We are seeing improvements with his course management and overall fitness. Thomas will keep improving each year and we look forward to his great performances on and off the golf course in the future.”
