Terrence De Jongh

Prior to joining the Millsaps College coaching staff, Terrence De Jongh worked as the head coach at the University of Louisiana-Monroe for 13 season. While at ULM he compiled a 165-90-1 overall record. De Jongh came to ULM and turned around a program that had three-straight losing seasons, into a program that achieved a total of nine winning seasons during his time in Monroe.

He led the Warhawks to the 2018 ITA National Kick-Off Weekend for the first time in program history, claiming a first-round victory.

Four of his teams enjoyed ITA top 75 rankings, including two that finished in the top 50. Under his direction the Warhawks won the 2017 Sun Belt Championship and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament. De Jongh was named the Coach of the Year three times and is the winningest coach in ULM history.

In his tenure at ULM, seven student-athletes achieved a ITA National Ranking. He coached seventeen All-Sun Belt singles honorees, and six All-Sun Belt doubles teams. Six teams featured individuals selected to compete at the ITA All-American Tournament. In 2010 one of his players was named the Southern Regional ITA Arthur Ash Award winner.

De Jongh began his coaching career at his alma mater, Louisiana Tech as an assistant coach during the 2000 season. Serving four years in that capacity, he was elevated to the position of interim head coach for the 2004 campaign and led the Lady Techsters to a 9-12 record - the program's best mark in seven years. After having the 'interim' tag removed for the 2005 season, the De Jongh-led Louisiana Tech squad topped the 10-win plateau for the first time in nearly 20 seasons.

A 1995 high school graduate of Scholen Gemeenschap on the Carribean island of Bonaire, De Jongh continued his formal education by receiving an electrical engineering degree from Ir Cesar Tarzano Junior College, located in Aruba, in 1999.

De Jongh played on the International Tennis Federation circuit. A strong competitor, he was ranked internationally in both singles and doubles. He would later receive a bachelor's degree in computer information systems from Louisiana Tech in 2003 and his master's of industrial organization from Louisiana Tech in 2006.
