Jarred Binner was named the Millsaps College Director of Sports Medicine in late July 2024 prior to the start of the fall seasons.
No stranger to the Jackson area, Binner was an Injury Prevention Specialist at Fit For Work the previous two years. There he created educational webinars, trained and mentored new employees and provided medical care for work-related and non-work injuries in Jackson.
From 2021-22, Binner was the Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine at Jackson State University. There he was the Head Athletic Trainer and Sports Medicine Director for over 400 student-athletes across 16 NCAA Division I programs. While at Jackson State, he established a new sports medicine program to provide world-class medical care for athletes and staff and created a new insurance program to ensure all athletic injuries were properly covered.
Other impressive stops along the way included at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where Binner was a Certified Athletic Trainer (2019-21), Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster (PA) as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Lancaster Barnstormers baseball club (2016-19).
Additionallly, he was the Head Athletic Trainer for Beaver Falls High School in Pennsylvania (2014-16), Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapy Aide at Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Inc. (summer 2014) and a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Westminster College (2013-14).
Since 2010, Binner has been involved with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society.
Binner obtained his Master's in Exercise Science and Rehabilitation from California University of Pennsylvania in 2014 and received his bachelor's degree in Athletic Training a year prior.
