The Millsaps baseball team added familiar face to their coaching staff in August of 2025. After successful careers on the diamond, Nathan Chilton joined the program as an assistant coach.
Spending six seasons on the ball field, Chilton appeared in 100 games while making 40 starts for the Majors. He saw three doubles, two home runs, 25 RBIs, and a pair of stolen bases.
Following his success at Millsaps, Chilton was a member of Club 40, a 2023 Spring SAA Academic Honor Roll as a scholar-athlete, and a member of the 2023-24 SAA Winter/Spring All-Sportsmanship Team.
In July of 2024, Chilton began working at Slidell High School as the lead assistant coach and social media/marketing manager.
Chilton coached the team to a third-round playoff position and was a 5A high school team that set a school record for wins and earned a Co-District Championship for the first time in 20 years.
Chilton's duties included working day-to-day as the hitting and catching coach, where he assisted the infielders while running all social media accounts and managing online presence. He is still active in the social media role now with the Majors.
Before working at Slidell High School, Chilton spent two years as an executive assistant for Kinetic Staffing in Ridgeland, Miss.
He helped handle extra or extraneous projects that needed assistance while mainly specializing in spreadsheets and other document creation and management. Chilton also worked as a courier and completed office errands.
Prior to becoming a lead assistant coach at Slidell High School, Chilton was a volunteer assistant and assistant recruiting coordinator for the Millsaps baseball team during May and June of 2024.
In 2022, Chilton completed his undergraduate degree in Business Administration, and in 2024 received his master's degree in Business Administration as well.
