BIRMINGHAM- Lauren Durbin shot a 76 to lead the Majors at the opening round of the SAA Conference Championships in Birmingham, Alabama.
Durbin's 76 is tied with two others as the teams and players make the turn to the middle 18 of this three day event.
The Majors also got solid rounds from Lauren Barattini (92) and Emma Lee Mikhalek (96) to lead Millsaps to an opening round of 378.
"Today was perfect for scoring conditions. Our team did a solid job of scoring today. Although we wanted to do better, we still have a lot of golf to play," coach Eddie Brescher said after day one.
"(Lauren)Durbin played very solid today. She has been struggling to get off to a good start this spring, but she played good today and changed that," Brescher continued. "She is in a great position in the tournament but we still have a lot of golf to play."
The teams will hit the links again tomorrow for day two of the three day championships.
