Box Score Conway, AR – The Millsaps Men's Basketball Team fell on the road to Hendrix earlier tonight by a score of 68-56.
Tonight's contest begins a series of four straight conference road games for the Majors as they now fall to 1-6 in SAA play. The Warriors, who now move to 2-16 on the year, trailed twice in tonight's matchup and shot 48 percent from the field. The Majors finished 20-55 from the field, but just 2-12 on three pointers.
Midway through the first half of play, the Majors trailed 21-11. Facing the early deficit, Millsaps answered by going on a 14-6 run. The late first half run made the contest a one-possession game at halftime (27-25).
The Warriors, however, responded with a run of their own. Hendrix outscored Millsaps 7-1 early in the second half to take the lead – and never looked back. Millsaps attempted several rallies and trailed by just five at one point, but eventually fell to Hendrix 68-56.
Quinn Atkinson continued to lead the Majors with 14 points and five rebounds while
Marc Robertson totaled 13 points with five rebounds as well. Logan Mancusco finished with eight points while
Trent Markwith totaled seven.
In overall shooting, the Majors finished 20-55 (36%) from the field and 2-12 (16%) on three pointers while Hendrix went 27-56 (48%) from the field and 7-22 (31%) on three pointers. The Warriors outscored the Majors in bench points (18-15), points in the paint (38-20) and points off turnovers (14-9) as well.
The Majors will look to regroup with another conference road game later this weekend. Next up for Millsaps Men's Basketball is a matchup against Rhodes. Tip off from Memphis, Tennessee is set for Sunday, Jan. 31st at 3:00 pm.
