Box Score SHERMAN, Tx. -- Millsaps Women's Basketball falls to 5-4 on the season following a 74-59 loss to Austin College this Sunday afternoon.

This was the second time Austin and Millsaps matched up this year, with the first one coming in the SCAC/SAA Challenge. The Majors unfortunately were unable to come out on top of either matchup, falling in the first one on a last second buzzer beater by Austin and this one after a decisive second half effort in favor of Austin.

Millsaps started strong in this one, winning the first quarter 17-12 after a good defensive effort then taking the second quarter 19-18 to take a six point lead into halftime. Early, hot shooting from Megan Donaldson led the way, as she made three of four 3-point baskets to pace Millsaps offense. Coming out of the break, the Majors offense stumbled, only putting up 10 points in the third quarter, and Millsaps wasn't able to recover in the fourth quarter despite a strong second half effort from Kala-Jewel Freeman, who had 11 second half points on 4-5 shooting from the field.

Individually, Millsaps was led offensively by leading scorer, Kala-Jewel Freeman with 19 points and six rebounds on 8-13 shooting. Megan Donaldson made four threes in rout to 12 points. Braxton Thomas came off the bench and contributed double digits with 10 points, two rebounds and two assists. Starting center, Kim Klunk gave Millsaps four points, six rebounds, a team high four blocks, three assists and two steals. Katie Connor also chipped in three assists and two steals. 

The road trip to Texas featuring games against LeTourneau and Austin ends as Millsaps Women's Basketball packs it in for the next two weeks on a Christmas break. The Majors will return to action on December 29th against Belhaven at home.
