JACKSON, Miss. -- After ending non-conference play on a two game win streak, Millsaps Women's Basketball enters SAA conference play atop the leaderboard with a record of 7-4.
Coming into this game, Birmingham-Southern is 4-6 and fifth in the SAA. Millsaps is currently 7-4 and first in the SAA in winning percentage. This will be Millsaps first game against Birmingham-Southern this season, they will meet again in the last game of the regular season on Feb. 18. Last year, Millsaps lost all three matchups to BSC, including the championship game n the SAA conference tournament.
The top performer in last year's SAA Championship matchup was former player and now-assistant coach,
Miah Brooks, who led all Majors with 12 points and seven rebounds. The top performing returner was center,
Kim Klunk with 11 points and six rebounds off the bench for the Majors.
After non-conference play,
Kala-Jewel Freeman still sits at third in scoring in the SAA rankings.
Kim Klunk, Freeman, and
Brazia Jones are all in the top ten in the SAA in field goal percentage, placing at second, third, and sixth respectively.Klunk and Freeman are sixth and seventh in the SAA in rebounding. Klunk is second in blocks per game.
Katie Connor is fifth in the SAA in steals and assists per game.
