Millsaps Women's Basketball will host the Sewanee Tigers and the Centre Colonels this weekend. Last weekend, the Majors split their home back-to-back against Oglethorpe and Berry 1-1, dropping the game to Oglethorpe and winning vs. Berry. Millsaps is coming into this weekend at 10-6 on the season and 3-2 on the year, and currently sit tied for third place in the SAA with Centre.
In their last matchups a year ago, Millsaps swept the conference home-and-away series against Centre and Sewanee. In their first game against Sewanee, the Majors won in blowout fashion, led by
Braxton Thomas and
Kim Klunk who were the leading scorers with 13 and 12 points respectively.
In their first meeting with Centre last year, Millsaps was led by
Kala-Jewel Freeman off the bench with nine points and four assists in a low-scoring win at home.
On the year, Freeman is third in scoring at 16.1 points per game, third in field goal percentage, seventh in rebounding and ninth in blocked shots per game in the SAA rankings.
Kim Klunk and Brazia Jones are in the top ten in the SAA in field goal percentage. Klunk's recent glass cleaning has moved her up to third in rebounding per game and she remains tied-for-third in blocks per game.
Katie Connor and Brazia Jones are fifth and sixth in the SAA in steals per game and Connor is third in assists per game. Jones is also fourth in steals per game.
Megan Donaldson's hot shooting has lifted her up to second in the SAA in three point makes per game at 2.4 a game.
