JACKSON, Miss. -- Millsaps Women's Basketball will hit the road to face off against last weekend's opponents, Sewanee and Centre. The Majors have now played every conference foe and the schedule will turn to rematches against each of these teams in the second half of their home-and-away games.
Halfway through the SAA schedule, Millsaps is currently 12-6 overall and 5-2 in conference play. They are currently third in the SAA standings, one game back of Oglethorpe and two games back of Birmingham-Southern with one game remaining against both teams.
In the Majors meeting with Sewanee last Friday,
Kim Klunk was the star, leading all scorers with 24 points on 10-12 shooting from the field to go along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Kala-Jewel Freeman joined Klunk in double digits with 14 points and a game-high 15 rebounds on 6-10 shooting from the field while
Katie Connor had a game-high seven assists.
In the meeting against Centre last Sunday, the Majors hot shooting paved the way. Millsaps shot 9-10 from three point range on the evening and Freeman put in 21 points and six rebounds.
On the year, Freeman is third in scoring at 16.3 points per game, fourth in field goal percentage, seventh in rebounding, ninth in steals and ninth in blocked shots per game in the SAA rankings.
Kim Klunk is second in field goal percentage at 51.6%, third in rebounding, fourth in blocks. Katie Connor and Brazia Jones are fifth and eighth in the SAA in steals per game and Connor is first in assists per game at 4.2.
Megan Donaldson' is second in the SAA in three point makes per game at 2.4 a game.
