Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Men's Basketball falls to Sewanee on the road, 62-50. This loss drops the Majors to 4-15 on the season and 1-7 in the conference.
Millsaps got off to a hot start in this one, shooting 51% from the field and taking a 31-25 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Tigers heated up in the second half and Millsaps' early good shooting cooled off and Sewanee walked down the Majors, winning the second half by 18 in rout to a 62-50 finish. As a team, the Majors shot 37.5% from the field, forced 14 turnovers, and assisted on nine of their 21 field goals on the night.
Individually,
Buck Blanz led all Majors in scoring for the second game in a row with 14 points and a team-high six rebounds on 7-16 shooting from the field.
Brennan Gagen hit two of his three 3-point attempts on his way to 12 points and two assists on 50% shooting from the field.
Sam Kohnke led all Majors in assists and steals with four helpers and two takeaways.
Zachary Tullos and
Robert Gardner combined for 13 points on 6-15 shooting from the field to round out the scoring effort from the Majors starting five.
James Turner came off the bench to contribute four points, three rebounds and an assist.
Men's Basketball will next be in action on Sunday in another rematch against Centre on the road.
