Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. -- Millsaps Women's Basketball loses on the road to Oglethorpe, 84-60. This loss drops the Majors to 16-8 overall and 9-4 in the conference.
After today's SAA results, with BSC losing a game as well, Millsaps will be playing Birmingham-Southern next weekend for the regular season conference title.
In today's game, the Majors had a decent start, hitting three of four first quarter three point attempts and going into the second quarter only down 24-21. Then from that point on, the Majors went cold, shooting 20% from the field and only putting up nine second quarter points.
Facing a 15-point deficit in the second half, the Majors never found their footing from the field, shooting 20% in the third quarter and only hitting one of 15 second half three point attempts.
For the first time this season, no player for Millsaps scored in double digits.
Kala-Jewel Freeman,
Millicent Butler,
Kim Klunk,
Brazia Jones, and
Braxton Thomas all scored eight points a piece. Freeman lead the team in assists with four.
Megan Donaldson and Butler combined to hit four of the Majors five three-pointers for the game,with
Caroline Guilbeau hitting the only other three.
These results set the Majors up to play in a winner-takes-all game against Birmingham-Southern on the road next weekend for the regular season conference championship. The game will be at 1pm on Saturday, Feb. 18.
