Brennan Gagen and
Sam Kohnke are not enough, as Men's Basketball falls short against Hendrix at home, 88-82. This loss drops Millsaps to 4-17 on the season and 1-9 in conference play.
Despite a hot shooting start by Hendrix, Millsaps fought back in the first half and closed the lead to just 14. In the second half, the Majors kept a steady pace before turning it on late and getting the game within three points before Hendrix pulled away late.
Sam Kohnke and
Brennan Gagen both had great shooting nights. They hit eight of 13 three point attempts and Gagen was a perfect 4-4 from downtown. Kohnke put up 20 points, six assists and four rebounds on 8-17 shooting from the field. Gagen had 18 points, four assists, and four rebounds.
Buck Blanz came off the bench to contribute 14 points on 5-10 shooting from the field.
James Turner joined them in double digits with 10 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Robert Gardner also added to the three point effort, making two of his three attempts in rout to eight points and two steals.
As a team, the Majors shot 14-28 from downtown and assisted on 18 of their 28 baskets.
Millsaps will next be in action on Sunday against Rhodes.
