DANVILLE, Ky. -- The Southern Athletic Association tournament opened today and the Millsaps College Majors traveled to Kentucky to take on the No. 1 seed and No. 6 team in the country, Centre College.
The No. 6 ranked Colonels scored early and often in this contest on their way to a 9-0 quarterfinal win over the Majors.
How It Happened
Centre netted their first goal just 11 seconds into contest to grab the early 1-0 lead. They scored again in the 4th, 41st and 43rd minutes to take a 4-0 lead to the halftime locker room.
In the second 45 minutes the Colonels were able to score five more goals to wrap up their 9-0 win.
Centre dominated possession of the ball all afternoon long as they outshot Millsaps 32-0.
Madison Milano and
Maddie Moore split the time in goal for the Majors. Milano totaled 2 saves and and Moore led the way with 3.
The quarterfinal loss ends the 2018 season for the Majors. Millsaps finishes the year with a 2-13-2 record.
