JACKSON, Miss. – On the final day of the regular season, the Millsaps women's basketball team will square off against Birmingham Southern at the Hangar Dome for a 1:00pm start in a crucial SAA contest to decide how the final standings will play out.
Millsaps has an overall record of 8-16 and is currently in a four-way tie with Centre, Berry and Sewanee with a 5-8 conference record. Depending on the results of the games around the conference on Saturday, Millsaps could finish as high as fourth place or as low as eighth in the final conference standings.
Birmingham Southern holds an overall record of 10-14, and is currently ranked eighth in the SAA with 4-9 record coming into Saturday. Earlier this season, Millsaps lost on the road to Birmingham Southern by a score of 62-57.
Last weekend, Millsaps came up short in road contests to Rhodes and Hendrix. Last Friday, Millsaps lost 65-53 to Rhodes.
Dia Fortenberry led the Majors in scoring with 14 points.
Two days later, Millsaps fell to Hendrix by a score of 60-47. Fortenberry once again led the Majors in scoring with 10 points, but Millsaps was outscored 23-13 in the fourth quarter.

Jessica Patterson for her contributions on and off the court.
