JACKSON, Miss. – This Weekend, the Millsaps men's basketball team plays back to back road games against Rhodes College and Hendrix College, as they look to continue a recent stretch of good play.
The Majors enter this weekend with a record of 7-15, but they have won three of their last four games to improve to 4-7 in conference play. Rhodes enters this weekend with a record of 10-12 while Hendrix holds a record of 5-17.
Earlier this season, Rhodes defeated Millsaps 103-96 in Jackson. Millsaps was led by sophomore
Buck Blanz, who scored 20 points, but the Majors were outscored 54-45 in the second half. Rhodes is 2-5 since that game, and is led by Preston Giroux who leads the SAA in field goal percentage.
Millsaps defeated Hendrix 86-61 when they played in Jackson earlier this year. Junior
Michael Sullivan scored 41 points and made a Millsaps and SAA record 10 three pointers in the victory. Hendrix is 1-5 since.
Millsaps has just three games remaining on their schedule until the start of the SAA tournament on the weekend of February 23.
Millsaps currently ranks sixth out of eight teams in the conference, but will have an opportunity to move up in the standings with upcoming games against fifth place Rhodes and fourth place Birmingham Southern.
Friday night's game at Rhodes is set for an 8:00pm tip off with Sunday's contest at Hendrix scheduled for 3:00pm.
