BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- On Saturday, the Millsaps College men's and women's swimming team hit the water for the first competitive meet in school history.
The Majors traveled to Alabama for a quad-meet against Birmingham-Southern, Rhodes College and the University of West Florida.
The meet, which consisted of 32 total events, saw Millsaps post several strong finishes.
Notable Finishes
On the women's side,
freshman
Ronny DeFelicibus posted a personal-best time of 2:24.84 in the 200-yard freestyle.
Olivia Baldwin turned in a time (26.34) that was less than one second off of the leader in the 50-yard freestyle. Baldwin also bested a pair of swimmers from BSC and Rhodes with a time of 1:03.61 in the 100-yard fly.
On the men's side freshman
Cooper Clevenger finished one spot better than a SAA rival from Rhodes with his time of 104.81 in the 100-yard backstroke. Fellow classmate
Alden Macomber posted his career best, and the best Millsaps finish of the afternoon with a third place (1:02.62) in the 100-yard breaststroke.
What's Next?
Millsaps will host their first home meet in program history next weekend. On Friday afternoon the Majors will entertain Centenary College in a dual meet at University Wellness Center - Lakeland. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m., and the first 100 spectators will recieve a free t-shirt.
